Taiwan's cultural treasure-history

Taiwan is a historical country. We have a unique culture from indigenous people, colonizers, and modern Chinese. We are living in a high culturally diverse society, and it also influences our daily life from literature to diet.💗

Before the 16th century, Taiwan had only indigenous people, lived in a different area of Taiwan. They have their customs and languages💯. Until now, 16 ethnic groups in Taiwan have been rectified, but many ethnic groups have not been rectified by the government.


After the 16th century, Taiwan was ruled by the Netherlands and Spain (1624-1662). 😄The Netherlands colonized in the south of Taiwan, while Spain was in the north. Therefore, there are two different historic structures in the north and south of Taiwan today.

After the 17th century, Taiwan accepted the rule of the Han and Chinese dynasties (1662-1895).😆 The traditional Taiwanese culture was effected by Han culture gradually. At this time, Taiwan began to develop Han characteristic architecture and the Han language.💪

After 1895, the Manchu dynasty ceded Taiwan to Japan. Taiwan formally became a Japanese colony (1895-1945), so Japanese traditional culture and architecture gradually developed.😙
